Q : It would be great if we had an employee intranet where everyone can access company updates (and all receive the same information), company policies, interactive platforms which we can use for both the field and HO. We are really lacking on something like this and I know it has been discussed previously and something was looked into but we've never had any updates on what happened and whether we would still be looking to get something like this?
It's a modern feature within majority of companies and feel this is something we are lacking currently.
A: We have looked at having a SharePoint site as a Company Intranet in the past, however this would be in addition to but also separate to that of the S Drive so would in a lot of scenarios double effort (managing, GDPR compliance, finding documents etc). With a Company Intranet only certain people can upload / change documents therefore probably only the Communication Manager and different Department Heads reducing other team members’ access and the usability they currently benefit from with the S Drive.
HR Policies are all held on the S drive and are available to all employees (S:\Shared\Policies - Latest versions) and company communications are sent out to appropriate groups to ensure everyone does have access to / receives key company communications. If there is anything else you would like to have more available to you or any other ideas please let us know as there are always lots of different ways we can achieve things!
Q : Is it possible to review the meeting room process - I know a communication was sent via email but I was unable to locate the email. Please could you look at saving this centrally so everyone has access?
Could we also look at ways to enforce bookings as there have been occasions where a meeting room has been booked and someone else is using it. Could each meeting room have a white board with the times it is booked on that day, for example? this might stop others jumping in the room for adhoc calls.
A: Everyone has access to the meeting room calendar in their outlook. If you do not have access, then please ask Extrinsica to set this up for you.
Please refer to the calendar to know whether it booked or not.
Q : Not sure if this is the right forum to mention this, but can anything be done about the strip lighting at H/O? Quite a few of us develop quite serious, long-lasting headaches after being in the office - particularly when it's dull and dark outside.
Not sure how this can be checked / improved.
